Gate Avenue celebrates the 25th edition of DSS with amazing offers, prizes and entertainment
Dubai, UAE; 4 August 2022:DIFC's Gate Avenue, a vibrant urban destination for culture and community, celebrates the 25th anniversary of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) and has unveiled exciting offers, activities, and entertainment for its visitors. Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and DIFC have come together to bring fun and unique concepts to Gate Avenue, ensuring there is something for everyone. DSS is taking place until 4 September 2022.
Shop, Dine and Win
Through the 'Shop, Dine and Win' initiative running until 4 September, visitors who spend AED100 at Gate Avenue will be eligible to enter a draw where eight lucky winners will win a two-night full board staycation at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton, DIFC.
Games and more
Gate Avenue is teaming up with the popular Game Nation to bring a wide range of activities for adults and children to enjoy all through DSS, including a fun trampoline experience. Other exciting installations and entertainment attractions include the DSS Reflection Tunnel, an 8-metre-long tunnel lit up for people to wander through and take photos.
Adventures of Dynowish
For the first time ever, Dynowish, a magnificent 3.5-metre-tall sculpture by artists Paola and Antonia Signorini, is coming to Dubai. Having travelled to Florence, Munich, London, Moscow, Abu Dhabi and Beirut, the Instagrammable installation at Gate Avenue will captivate the attention of art lovers and visitors. The sculpture is based on the character from the artists' book, which follows the daring adventures of Dynowish and two children, and inspires both – the young and elderly – to persevere and never give up on their dreams. The sculpture installation will be on display until January 2023 with engaging events and activities planned for children including school visits, art competitions, and Dynowishbook reading.
Foodie Destination at Gate Avenue
Enjoy a gastronomical journey at Gate Avenue between 12pm to 6pm from 5-14 August and indulge your palette with not just delicious food, but also exciting activities, competitions, and entertainment offerings. During DSS, the classic 'Spin the Wheel' game will debut at the Foodie Destination at Gate Avenue, albeit with a twist. Visitors can spin to win exciting dining vouchers and be one out of 600 winners to redeem theirvoucher at participating restaurants within Gate Avenue. Every weekend between 5-14 August, families can get together to enjoy fun cooking workshops and learn how to slice, dice and mix healthy recipes courtesy Mamalu Kitchen and groove to live musical performances by solo musicians and DJs.
Build It Up
The 'Build It Up' edutainment activity suited for individuals and families is built to make imagination take flight and fuelled entirely by creative ideas under different themes with Lego. Running from 5 August to 4 September from 2pm - 9pm, the winning Lego structure will be on display for visitors to vote and the best creation will win a two-night luxurious staycation at the Ritz-Carlton, DIFC.
Children's favourites
Children's favourite characters, Modhesh and Dana, will make an appearance on 10 August to entertain audiences. There will also be a DSS Sweetilicious parade at Gate Avenue from 2-4 September, where performers dressed in candy-inspired clothes will entertain visitors, especially the children.
Besides all the exciting entertainment activities, visitors can enjoy special discounts and offers across Gate Avenue throughout DSS.
