This week, Advance Institute of Business Trainer Craig Hill continued his delivery of the Skills for Education and Employment program (SEE) at Sunnybank Aged Care Facility in Brisbane's southern suburbs. The training is conducted for Registered Training Organisation Navitas.
The eleventh week was spent doing assessments for the nationally accredited units the students had studied over the previous ten weeks. The vast majority of the students have passed all assessments to date. There are still several assessments to be completed, but current indications are for continued achievement.
This shows that the training has had a positive impact on their lives, as far as improving spoken and written English language and communication skills. This will have a positive impact on current and future employment opportunities for the students.
It also benefits the employer in that they have more productive and better skilled workers.
The Skills for Education and Employment program (SEE) helps employees get the skills they need for the job they want through stronger reading, writing, oral communication, maths and computer skills.
SEE training is tailored to the abilities and goals of the employees and is delivered flexibly right across Australia, both part-time and full-time, from metropolitan and regional areas, through to remote communities.
The course is presented on Tuesday afternoons, and repeated on Saturday mornings, in three hour sessions for twelve weeks. This gives the students the flexibility to decide what day they want to attend, based on their work rosters and private lives.
There was great enthusiasm from all the students, and we all look forward to next week's session.
