The last 60 plus hours have been a living hell. Yes, I said that word and yes, I meant that word.

Since Rebecca's procedure last week she has progressively worsened. Ileus after ileus kept forming in her intestines and no one could understand why? By Sunday night, after trying an ice-chip trial, we hit our peak-pain as she vomited continually with another intestinal obstruction.

From Sunday night to date, we have not been able to get Rebecca out of unrelenting pain cycle despite a sedation drip. The team wanted to intubate her yesterday and keep her intubated while waiting for her CT scan. That decision was delayed due to a transfer to a different ICU on another floor.

The CT revealed two more obstructions/strictures in Rebecca's intestines so we are headed into another surgical procedure at 3:00 pm today. We are praying FERVENTLY they can remove the obstructed areas by going inside the intestines and cutting scar tissue while dilating the area. If not, we will be forced to have a second procedure tomorrow where we resect Rebecca's intestines (remove the obstructed portion and stitch the intestines back together).

Even as incoherent as Rebecca is, she constantly says,

"Thank you Mom. Thank you. Thank you Mom. Thank you for being here with me. Thank you."

It breaks me - she still says thank you through all her pain.

But now I want to say thanks to all of YOU. Thank you for your love, prayers and fasting on behalf of our precious girl. Thank you for being here - every step of the way.

We love you,
C
