The beginning of my Dash week (Monday) I noticed I was keeping up with demand well. By Wednesday night I reached 26 driving hours or Dash Hours according to the app, but I wasn't satisfied with my pay by then.
DoorDash's pay scale is based on Monday-Sunday. Today's Saturday and I have put it in over 40 hours but have not reached as much as I normally would weeks prior.
I'll post three screenshots of the past three weeks of my DoorDash weekly pay for comparison. I've managed to work 40 hours so it's not a matter of a slow down. Here's what I noticed.
The week of April 25-May 1 there have been a very limited amount of peak incentive hours while driving.
Peak pay for DoorDash is what makes working for DoorDash attractive. DoorDash pays its Dashers pay between $2-10. In addition to customer tips, DoorDaah pays an additional $1-4 during its Peak Hours. Peak pay is what I barely saw all week. When Peak Pay is active that reels in at least $150 or more.
April 11-17
Below, I worked 38.1 hours, made 87 deliveries with a gross of $869.
April 18-24
Here, I worked 46.1 hours, made 106 deliveries with a gross of $1025.
April 25-May 1
This week, I worked the same amount of hours than last week but 8 hours more than two weeks ago, less deliveries than two weeks ago and made less than the past two weeks.
The only thing that makes sense that I noticed being a big factor was the lack of incentive pay all week long.
My frustration is directly with DoorDash and not customers. Yes I feel customers should tip for the excellent and expeditious service I provide, however, DoorDash should do more to supplement or compensate the Dasher when tips aren't provided. $2 orders waiting for 30 minutes is not how I can feed my family.
Are you one of the Dashers noticing a slow down in your area? If so, let me know! I'd love to hear it and other Dasher stories! Until then, Happy Dashing and be safe out there!
