The lateral radiograph of the lumbar spine (right) shows shortened pedicles leading to narrowing of the anterior-posterior diameter of the spinal canal (spinal stenosis) and that the vertebral bodies have some anterior wedging and posterior scalloping. The diagnosis was achondroplasia.
