Time is running out to get tickets for the Boys & Girls Club's 80s Prom Night. The event is on June 17. Attendees must be 21+ and all proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Fremont County. Now is the time to get tickets.

VIP tickets get you a two-hour early entry, which includes a served dinner, live entertainment, and 80s trivia.

Late-night arrival and VIP tickets provide you with live music, a costume contest, hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar.

We have the stellar option to rent out a private eight-person table to accommodate you and your friends.

Florence Pioneer Museum announces rescheduled events

When Mother Nature decides to prune her trees in Fremont county, she does it with 12 inches of snow, and spotty electrical blackouts, in the middle of May. The Florence Pioneer Museum and Research Center had to cancel the Chili and Beer Fundraiser due to the weather last weekend. It was disappointing but the museum knew there would be a better day.

What better day will be July 16! The museum's regularly scheduled fundraiser "A Night at the Museum" will feature the home-chili and homemade pottery cups and bowls by P & G Pottery. The gold reduction and smelter history in Florence will be featured during the heyday of gold mining in Cripple Creek. The museum will have on display the Florence & Cripple Creek railroad, and Sidewinder Sluice, a gold panning company in Florence, will be on hand to talk about panning your own gold.

Museum Chili Makers:  if you can help the museum out with your wonderful chili at that time, let us know: 1-719-784-1904. Mark your calendars for July 16, 4-8 p.m. to come to enjoy a wonderful evening event.

The museum wants to let our walk-in visitors and visitors to our new website know that the scheduled Cemetery Tour for June 11 has been canceled. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the museum cannot offer this event this year.

The museum wants to take the "can" out of "canceled" and create a "Can-Do" event with Manna House of Florence. Manna House needs to restock its food and personal hygiene supplies for the summer season. On all Saturdays, through June, for each person who brings in canned or boxed food or personal hygiene supplies to the Museum, the regular $5 admission fee will be waived.

Our new "Oil Field" plaque is up on the north side of the "Jail" waiting to be read. The "Original 19" plat map is still up for those who didn't see it in January and the new W. Morris Cafkey Memorial display has been created to honor one of Florence's most famous train book authors.

Let's take this "Can-Do" effort to help Manna House help those in our great little community of Florence. Saturdays the museum opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. It is located at historic 100 E. Front St. Florence. See you soon. http://www.florencepioneermuseum.org.
