Jeremy Utt, Teacher at Stafford County Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mathematics instruction.
With the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Mr. Utt initially obtained a Bachelor of Arts in government and public policy in 2003 and followed with a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction and degrees in gifted and mathematics education and an Educational Specialist in educational leadership with licensure in 2018 from Old Dominion University in Norfolk.
Mr. Utt has provided superior education as a mathematics specialist and middle school teacher for 12 years with the Isle of Wight County Schools from 2006 to 2010 in Windsor, from 2010 to 2015 in the Hampton City Schools, and the Stafford County Public Schools from 2015 to the present. After receiving a Meritorious New Teacher Designation in 2006, he garnered Teacher of Honor Award in 2010 and Master Teacher of Honor Award on 2021 from the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society.
Mr. Utt's professional and fraternal memberships include the Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Kappa Delta Pi, Gamma Theta Upsilon, the Golden Key International Honour Society, Phi Kappa Phi, the College Republicans, the John Locke Society, Phi Alpha Theta, Pi Gamma Mu, Pi Sigma Alpha, the Wesley Foundation, the Freemasons, the National Society of the American Colonists, the General Society of Colonial Wars and the Descendants of Founders of New Jersey.
Mr. Utt attributes his success to persistence, determination, the support of family and friends, and educators who taught him all through the years. His mentors were his parents, his father's mother who was a major influence on him, and his professors. He considers his career highlight to be when he received his National Board Certification, a very high mark for any teacher to accomplish because it is a credential that peers give when a work is reviewed and found to be sufficient quality to attain a standard of professionalism. He is also proud of being the founder of Junior Beta Clubs at two different schools where he has worked.
Mr. Utt's goal in the coming years is for continued growth and success as a middle school math teacher. In addition, he is contemplating acquiring a Doctor of Education in gifted leadership.
