Cañon City High School Symphonic Band performed Wednesday afternoon at the Lou Del Pizzo Performing Arts center and set the bar high for the nearly 40 visiting schools. Led by band director, Dan Wiley, the symphonic band played two rousing numbers, Encanto and Critical Mass. Kettle drums boomed through the high school auditorium as the band played, "Critical Mass," and the delicate tangling of flutes and clarinets could be heard during Encanto. The gathered elementary schools and friends and family sat enraptured as the band completed their set.
