The profitability and current parameters for Tilapia production in Tanzania were investigated in this study. The Tanzanian government provided 92 Tilapia farming households from 120 rural villages using a selective sampling approach. A systematic questionnaire is used to collect primary data, which is then evaluated using descriptive statistics. The Gross Margin calculator was used to figure out how profitable semi-intensive tilapia pond fish farming is. The viability of tilapia pond farming was examined using the Ordinary Least Squares regression to discover the unique elements impacting profitability and Net Present Values, respectively. The majority of tilapia farmers had an average age of 39 years, and male respondents dominated tilapia farming, according to the descriptive data. The feed cost accounted for around 73 percent of the overall cost, showing that feed availability is one of the most significant challenges in tilapia farming. The average gross margin gained by respondents was 21.7 percent. The cost of feeds, stocking density, and seed size all had a negative impact on the accumulated pond tilapia profit, according to the regression analysis. The Present Net Value finding was negative, indicating that existing tilapia pond fish farming in the research region is unworthy.
