Former Cañon City resident Ann Simas (nee Strunk) announces the release of her latest book, Hidden to Die, number eight in her Grace Gabbiano Mysteries, which are set in Coburg, Oregon. Other titles in the series are Dressed to Die, Sliced to Die, Buried to Die, Quilted to Die, Taken to Die, Praying to Die, and Framed to Die.

Forced to go on medical leave after being gunshot, Grace Gabbiano isn't happy about the way things are going. Uncle Vito suggests to Chief Aidan Cruz that Grace would be the perfect person to find the missing valuables in recently deceased Nella's home. If not for the Greys, three teenagers, and Aidan, Grace might have figured out where all the hiding places were a little bit sooner.

Simas is a graduate of Cañon City High School and attended Southern Colorado State College for a year. She received her B.A. from Humboldt State University, Arcata, California. She has a writing and graphics design background and is an award-winning newsletter editor. She served for two years on the Romance Writers of America Board of Directors, where she represented members in the Pacific Northwest and chaired the Outreach International Chapter, serving members worldwide. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, International Thriller Writers, Italian American Writers Association, and Northwest Independent Writers Association.

Simas is the author of 38 books, three of which were Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Finalists, Chloe's Spirit, First Star, and Blessed Are the Eagles. Chloe's Spirit and First Star also have full-length books entitled Afterstories. Her other titles include Loose Ends, Heaven Sent, and Black Moon Rising. In addition to the Grace Gabbiano Mysteries, she writes three other series: Andi Comstock Supernatural Mysteries (Holy Smoke, Penitence, Angel Babies, Hellfire, The Wrong Wicca); Fossil, Colorado Books (Here and Gone, Disappearing Act, Run or Don't, Now or Never); and Christmas Valley Romances (Santa's Helper, Candy Cane Lane, Let It Snow, FruityCakes, Sleigh Bride, Angels on the Rooftop, Deck the Gnomes, Back-Door Santa, Jingle Bell Clock, Reindeer Blitz, Holly Jollies, Yule Loge). She also has one short-story collection entitled, All's Well.

Simas's books are published by Magic Moon Press and are available worldwide in ebook format through Amazon.com. They are also available in paperback through the author's website, annsimas.com (free shipping within the U.S.), and from Amazon.com (free shipping with Prime).

Grand Ole Opry Veteran Daryl Mosley comes to Canon City

The award-winning singer, songwriter, and storyteller Daryl Mosley is coming to Canon City, with two opportunities to see him in concert. On Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. he will be at Bridge to Life Assembly of God, 222 N. Orchard Avenue, and on Aug. 14 at 10:30 a.m. he will be at the First Christian Church, 320 N. 16 th Street.

Mosley has been described as, "one of the most critically-acclaimed artists in the American roots genres" (The Country Note). From countless appearances on "The Grand Ole Opry" to classic shows at the famous Bluebird Cafe to a touring schedule of over 150 concerts per year, he has been sharing his songs and his stories with America for over 30 years. Daryl has written three Song of the Year award winners, eight of his songs have made it to number one, and he has twice been named Songwriter of the Year! His songs have been recorded by dozens of artists ranging from bluegrass legend Bobby Osborne to country star Lynn Anderson to Southern Gospel's The Booth Brothers, and have been featured on television shows ranging from "American Idol" to "The View." One of his best-known songs, "(Ask the Blind Man) He Saw It All," was named one of the top Southern Gospel songs of all time.

Gospel music legend Bill Gaither calls Daryl, "a poet-and we don't have many poets left!" Daryl says he just writes and sings songs about real life and real people; songs about faith and home and community are the foundation of his music because those are the things that are
most precious to him. He says, "I love songs about how it used to be, or could be still, or might
have been." Daryl is also a gifted storyteller, and he shares entertaining tales of the inspiration behind his songs, his years at the Grand Ole Opry, and his faith.

The concert is free to the public but a love offering will be taken. For additional information, contact Patty Lindley at 502 262-0428.
