At the beginning of my trip, a dear friend who is a fellow Malaysian in Melbourne mentioned Malaysia trip to visit relatives is like a pilgrimage. Come to think of it, how true!! Especially me who is fully public transport reliant here.
First ever time I'm taking extended time off for myself! A mini sabbatical...something I wanted to do post FRACGP, but then came covid. So, here I am, on the brink of a milestone birthday, where the cliche says "life begins at"...I really don't know about that bit, but I choose to do what I love for myself & what I feel I should do, because I want to do it, during this extended time off. 6 weeks will fly by before I know it!

Only today I realized that my entire travel is for a total of 40 days! Feels like I am taking 40 days to celebrate my Fabulous 40th birthday! Awwww what a fabulous coincidence! This is a trip to celebrate meaningful relationships in my life, near & dear ones & myself doing what I love...travel, explore, eat & socialize among others.
40 days to celebrate my Fabulous 40

Birthdays are a celebration of where we are in the circle of life...milestone birthdays are even more special. Those who don't like to do what they love for themselves on their special days, I don't understand them. Those who have expectations on others, get disappointed.
Lately, my love language is morphing more & more into 'Quality Time'. Not only with others, but with myself too. I did that on my 39th & loved every bit of it. There's no room for anyone or any conversations to bring negativity into the beginning of my brand new year.
I am very thoughtful & go the extra mile for others...I am extending the exact kindness to myself to end my terrific 30s & welcome my fabulous 40s! No expectations on anyone else. Totally self sufficient, planned my own birthday & birthday week (bulk of it). Might seem pathetic to some, but I choose to celebrate me! I do it this way so 1 day in the year, I don't have to be considerate of others & put others first. 1 day to ensure I put myself first. But above all, so nobody can hurt me & upset the beginning of my brand new decade especially with their moodiness or negative conversations. I have enough of the latter at work, all day, everyday.

This trip, I'm retracing my frequent haunt states here through my visitings. With family, I choose to visit the elderlies...The rest, for those who meet me halfway with my announcement of upcoming visit, I put in the effort...With friends, I am very selective by choosing to spend quality time with those who gave a damn to keep in touch with me, especially during the pandemic.
