Ava Hale was named the February Marine Corps League's student of the month. Hale is currently a senior at Florence Junior/Senior High School.
Her parents are Benjamin and Shelly Hale and she has two siblings: Georgia and Mahaley Hale.
School activities, clubs, and organizations include being a part of the Florence Future Farmers of America from 2020-2023 (where she served as president from 2022-2023), San Isabel District FFA (executive committee 2022-2023), Principal Advisory Committee, Florence High School National Honor Society (inducted 2021), and North Laurel High School FFA (2019-2022).
Her sports activities include the Canon City Piranhas Swim Team, the North Laurel High School Swim Team, and the Laurel County Barracudas Swim Team.
Her honors and awards include gold in the Colorado FFA State Level Veterinary Science CDE, Silver in San Isabel FFA District Level Prepared Public Speaker, Principal's Honor Roll, and Florence Colorado Rotary Club.
Her community involvement includes Meal of Hope, the National Western Stock Show, and Grace Fellowship Church Food Pantry.
Her hobbies are crocheting and taking care of houseplants.
Her future plans include attending Purdue University to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and then attending graduate school at Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine to become a doctor of veterinary medicine.
