Dr. Kevin A. Angstadt, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at St. Lawrence University, has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer science.
Since 2022, Dr. Angstadt has excelled as an assistant professor of computer science at St. Lawrence University. From 2020 to 2022, he was a visiting assistant professor of computer science at the institution. Prior to working at St. Lawrence University, Dr. Angstadt garnered experience as an engineering teaching consultant with the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching in Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2019 to 2020. He was a graduate student research assistant from 2017 to 2020 and a graduate student instructor from 2018 to 2019 at the University of Michigan. From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Angstadt was a graduate research assistant at the University of Virginia.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Angstadt attended St. Lawrence University and earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science, mathematics and German studies in 2014. In 2016, he graduated from the University of Virginia with a Master of Computer Science degree. Dr. Angstadt concluded his formal education in 2020, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan. An accomplished professional, he co-developed the patent for "Systems and Methods for Disjoint Report Merging" in 2021. Dr. Angstadt was the co-recipient of a $1.2 million National Science Foundation grant and received an award for outstanding teaching and service from the University of Virginia in 2017.
To keep abreast of his field, Dr. Angstadt has maintained membership with the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Delta Phi Alpha, Pi Mu Epsilon, Tau Beta Pi, the Ives Society, the National Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, hiking, cooking, knitting, playing woodwinds, photography, reading, electronics, 3D printing, modeling and collecting computational artifacts. In the coming years, Dr. Angstadt looks forward to receiving tenure at St. Lawrence University and taking on more leadership and service-oriented responsibilities.
