Thanks to a grant from the Newmont Cripple Creek & Victor gold mine, the Florence Pioneer Museum and Research Center, located at 100 E. Front St. in Florence, has been able to start an electrical upgrade for the Braden/Griffith Room and purchase six 27-inch digital TV monitors to show PowerPoint presentations on the six areas of the economy that built Florence and Eastern Fremont County: coal, oil, railroads, reduction mills, cement, and farming/ranching.
The presentation will introduce and show detailed information at each of the displays. Many documents and pictures are tucked away in filing cabinets. The power points will allow the Museum to show more history on a topic from their vast inventories.
Thank you, Newmont, for helping the Florence Pioneer Museum and Research Center to show the past to the present for the future.
