"Kids did such an awesome job today," said Marcy Epperson, Head Cross Country Coach. "Kudos to our newcomers, Alessio Aurrecoechea, Coleton Godfrey, Elyvia Hopper, Natalee Runyan, and Hannah Moore. It has been such a pleasure to watch these kids train for the past few weeks and to pleasantly surprise themselves with stellar performances at today's race."
She said the season is definitely looking bright with these new additions to the program.
"Huge shoutout to our girls placing 10th as a team and Alissa Rall's 5th place finish individually," Epperson said. "Piper Montoya had a fantastic day as well finishing 14th in a race that included 212 runners. Because of the hard work and dedication with summer workouts, our kids are seeing positive results against some of the best teams in the state, such as Grandview, Pueblo West, and Falcon High School."
CCHS Cross Country's next race is scheduled for Friday at Widefield High School.
