Biodata

Dr Melanie Seah commenced her medical journey at the National University of Singapore in 1995, where she began her formal training in the field of medicine. Following this, she undertook her residency in General Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Her dedication and expertise led to her being granted Fellowship accreditation in General Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Having completed her fellowship training in breast surgery, Dr Melanie Seah was recognized for her outstanding achievements and awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by the Ministry of Health.

This scholarship provided her with the opportunity to further refine her clinical skills in the specialized field of breast oncoplastic surgery at Marien Hospital in Duesseldorf, Germany. During her time there, she had the privilege of working alongside Prof. Audretsch Werner, a renowned international expert in breast oncoplastic surgery.

Beyond her commitment to clinical practice, Dr. Seah places great importance on mentoring future medical professionals who will play a pivotal role in caring for future generations.

She served as a senior clinical lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and also contributed as a Clinical Teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Today, Dr. Seah serves as a Visiting Consultant at the Thomson Breast Centre, where her expertise continues to benefit those in need of specialized breast care.
