Cañon City Schools Gifted and Talented Program thanks Mugs restaurant for partnership

Olivia Johnson

April 3

The Cañon City Schools Gifted and Talented Program would like to extend a huge "Thank You" to Jen Paxton and her outstanding staff at Mugs restaurant.  Through their generosity and partnership, their department once again hosted their annual fundraiser. The GATE department sold gift certificates the entire month of March to Mugs for $10 each. Paxton generously donated $5 from each gift certificate sale back to our department. With the support of the community, they sold 200 gift certificates. The funds raised will be used for future student supplies and opportunities. This truly could not have happened without the amazing efforts of Jen Paxton at Mugs Restaurant.

Upcoming events at John C. Fremont Library

Pantry of Fremont selected by City Market for Fight Hunger bag program

The Pantry of Fremont has been selected by City Market as the April beneficiary of its new Fight Hunger bag program. Designed in alignment with the City Market Zero Hunger/Zero Waste initiative, the Fight Hunger bag program makes it easy for shoppers to impact local hunger relief efforts by simply purchasing a reusable bag. Throughout April, The Pantry of Fremont will receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable Fight Hunger bag sold at 1703 Fremont Drive. City Market chooses a different nonprofit to benefit from the program each month at participating store locations. Nonprofits meeting the program's qualifications are submitted to a database of thoroughly researched organizations within the vicinity of each store location. City Market is grateful for the difference The Pantry of Fremont makes in the community that many call home and wants to help further its impact.
