4 Helpful Additions To Have In Your Self-Care/Light Medicine Kit

Having a self-care kit or "light medicine" kit you can use for non-emergency situations can be a big helper, no matter who you are, where you live, or what your lifestyle looks like. For example, you might not suffer hayfever this year, but next year it could hit you out of the blue. As such, having a few worthwhile fixtures, tinctures, or odds and ends you can use for personal comfort is a wise approach.

But which items are worth opting for? Well, they can differ depending on your needs, of course. If you have sensitive skin, then making sure you have the appropriate cream for your skin type is worthwhile. You may even implement newer products, such as CBD pain relief cream that can work wonders.

In this post, we'll humbly suggest four nice additions to your self-care kit:

Clean Tweezers & Scissors

You never know when you need to cleanly cut off a hangnail, use tweezers to remove a splinter, or finish your grooming regimen with a little upkeep. These tools, combined with antibacterial wipes that won't tarnish the material, can be a nice addition and remain clean tools for adjusting to your needs. They can also be a nice addition to very light medical care.

Instant Cold Packs

A bag of frozen peas might not be the worst option you can use if you've bumped your head or suffered a minor injury, but of course, peas will thaw, and then you're just holding food to your wound site. An instant cold pack can be much more hygienic, aren't as freezing to the touch, but can help reduce swelling and the hardship of a minor burn or bump.

Eye Sprays

Sometimes, an allergic reaction or even exposure to mold can cause our sinuses to suffer, and even our eyes to suffer from discomfort. In these circumstances, it can be wise to have eye sprays that help you clear up the swelling or irritation while you deal with the source. If the difficulty persists, make sure to talk to your doctor. However, in the meantime eye sprays can help you overcome those minor annoyances.

Herbal Tablets

Any actual medications should be placed securely in a medicinal box or cabinet so children cannot access them, of course. However, you may also find that herbal tablets can be helpful from time to time.

That might include Ashwagandha or valerian root tablets, as both have been shown to help improve sleep and relaxation without adverse conditions, though of course, make sure to speak to your healthcare provider before adding any supplementation to your diet.

Still, herbal tablets, such as valerian root for the treatment of mild anxiety symptoms, can be a nice benefit when required. You might not rely on these all the time, but for a nice pick me up here and there, a herbal solution is nice to have.

With this advice, you'll curate a better self-care or light medicine kit. It's about providing you what you need when required, even if that's a "now and then" routine.
