Local law enforcement is looking for a man who is reported to have escaped from the Fremont County Sheirff's Office.
Kegan VanVliet, 45, was last seen on foot headed eastbound along U.S. 50 at Justice Center Road. He is described as a white male, 6-foot tall, 175 pounds, with gray-blonde hair, and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. If you see this subject, please do not approach, and call 9-1-1.
Cañon City police officers arrested VanVliet in the 300 block of North Raynolds late Wednesday night and was being held on suspicion of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree, Possessing a Dangerous or Illegal Weapon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Defacing a Firearm, Prohibited use of a Weapon, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by Previous Offender, Special Offender, Unlawful Distribution and Domestic Violence.
He was set for advisement today at 3 p.m. in Fremont County District Court.
