The man who escaped from the Fremont County Detention Center on Friday afternoon has been apprehended.
The update came from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office's Facebook on Saturday morning. Details will be forthcoming.
Kegan VanVliet, 45, was last seen on foot headed eastbound along U.S. 50 at Justice Center Road on Friday, just hours before he was set to attend his advisement at 3 p.m.
CaƱon City police officers arrested VanVliet in the 300 block of North Raynolds late Wednesday night. He was being held on suspicion of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree, Possessing a Dangerous or Illegal Weapon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Defacing a Firearm, Prohibited use of a Weapon, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by Previous Offender, Special Offender, Unlawful Distribution and Domestic Violence.
