Sorry, this is later than I planed to post this so I hope it's worth the wait.
As I mentioned in the last post, they found a five centimeter mass on my left kidney and referred us to a specialist . At the time of our meeting, the doctor told us it was cancer and needed to be dealt with as soon as possible. We agreed and scheduled the surgery for the 30th of May.
I had two choices, a partial removal which might leave me with some functionality, but many possible complications even the chance they would have to do a second surgery if the partial kidney failed. Or I could just have it removed completely which had fewer complications and promised to remove all chances the cancer could come back. To me, it was no brainer, I told them to just take it, better one and done as far as I was concerned.
The surgery was estimated to take about an hour but actually took about forty minutes and thankfully I don't remember a thing until I was in a room in ICU. I ended up spending a total of five days in the hospital and was then sent home.
I'm still a little sore and have a lot of restrictions to deal with but on the way to a full recovery.
