| Hello! Kids who walk on their toes do not have stronger calves, they actually have weaker calves! I know what you may be thinking: That's Crazy! Our calves are used to slowly control our body moving across our foot. When our calves are weak and don't have the strength to control the body they shorten and pop you up on your toes because it feels more stable. So what can you do? Let's work on stretching and strengthening those calves (and other areas of the body) so your child can relearn how to walk with heel to toe gait. Check out our free round up of resources on toe walking. And if you are looking for specific exercises with in depth information check out our toe walking exercise deck! Stacy P.S. The sooner you start the faster it improves! |
