Using 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, the identity of the 2-(4-Methyl-2-phenyl-4,5-dihydrooxazol-4-ylmethyl)-isoindole-1,3-dione, which was previously produced in our lab, was established without a doubt. The use of two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy was crucial. The isoindoline-1,3-dione derivative's 2D-COSY spectrum reveals a perfect correlation between nearby protons. Thus, a link was discovered between the phthalimide protons H(8) and H(9) on the one hand, and H(8') and H(9') on the other. The examination of the examined compound's 2D-HSQC spectra reveals a perfect correlation between protons and nearby carbons, but no correlation for all quaternary carbons.
