Currently providing superior care as a family physician with SSM Health, a not-for-profit health system serving the comprehensive health needs of communities across the Midwest in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin, Dr. Paynter initially obtained a Bachelor of Science from Lincoln University and later graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University and completed his residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Paynter has served on the board of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and is the immediate past president of the Missouri Society of American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. As a regional director for Kempten University of Applied Scientists headquartered in Allgäu, Germany, he is responsible for recruiting medical students and hopefully will eventually acquire a family medicine residency.
Because of what Dr. Paynter terms an "insatiable desire to keep moving forward", he has already been able to accomplish some of his goals including his fellowship. In the coming years, he intends to give back to the community by bringing more medical students out to the mid-Missouri area because the region has struggled to attract physicians.
