movement is magic

Hi read,

It's time for our final tip to help you build your child's attention.

The first was "get close." 👥
The second was "use visuals." 👀
The third is:

3. MOVE! 🏃🏾‍♀️

Offer LOTS of body and head movement to help your child attend.

Rowing, jumping, spinning, skipping, swinging, wiggling, dancing, stretching, or hanging upside down are all fun movement alternatives to do with your child while giving your child directions.

Children are wired so that they NEED to move to learn and to listen.

Telling them to sit still may actually be detrimental to getting them to listen!

Movement of the head and body activates your child's vestibular sensory system, which plays a critical role in listening and visual attention. (More on this in the future!)

So to sum up: get close, use visuals, and MOVE! 👥 👀 🏃🏾‍♀️

As always, send your questions our way! You can hit reply to this email to let us know how we can help. Your questions help us write more tips to make life easier for even more families...and that's our favorite!

Yours,

P.S. Did you know the brain doesn't develop full attention until age 25?  Your child has lots of years to build attention skills!
