This can be accomplished by making sure that the flanges created on the IOL haptic tip (Yamane) or on the polypropylene suture end (belt-loop) are buried completely within the sclera. If you see the blue plastic flange sitting under the conjunctiva then it will likely erode and extrude in the future.
