Cañon City Police Department to host National Night Out at Macon Plaza
The Cañon City Police Department invites the community to its annual National Night Out event from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Macon Plaza, located at Fifth and Macon. Come meet CCPD K-9 Peer Support Joey, see a demonstration by Gracie Ju Jitsu, check out the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, and try dunking Chief Schick in the dunk tank.
The 41st National Night Out is an evening when communities come together to: heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for local anticrime efforts and strengthen neighborhood and police-community partnerships. Over 16,800 communities across the nation participate and the CCPD is proud to be included in that number.
